Social Responsibility (SR) Skills
Ready to level up? This is training for the real world!
Service Description
Ready to test your dog's foundation skills and build confidence in real-world settings? This group class is for intermediate to advanced teams who already have strong engagement, clear marker communication, and confident leash handling. Please note this class is only open to people who have trained with Skypuppy School before. **Class maybe suitable for new students to join, but please get in touch before booking. ** In GRC Dogsports, "Social Responsibility" or SR refers to a test that evaluates a dog's ability to behave appropriately in various situations with distractions, demonstrating good manners and control around other dogs and people, essentially ensuring the dog is well-adjusted and manageable in everyday life. Each class will practice a range of SR skills, which include leash communication, calm greetings, proofing positions like "Middle" and recall to "Front", and nailing a solid Down Stay with distractions. Your dog will also build independence with 'calm liberty' exercises, where we practise being chill and relaxing around each other. We'll continue to enhance motivation and play drive with food, toys, and personal play, introducing more indirect rewards to shift focus away from luring and the treat pouch when appropriate.
